The Helping Hands program is an incredible way to have a far reaching effect in the community. The items that are built are extensions of a person’s body. This program has a long lasting impact on individuals and their lives.
We will have speakers from the community that will talk about how an accident changed their lives and how the wheelchair made them “whole”. We will also have a speaker who will talk about how a prosthetic changed their life. When complete the hands will be shipped overseas to children and adults who have lost a hand to land mines in their country.
Helping Hands is about changing lives. It’s about accessing the potential of your hands, heads and hearts to build a better team, a better organization and a better world. You will be building hands needed by tens of thousands of people around the world who cannot afford prosthetic devices.
The Helping Hands process teaches your group to model true collaboration, commitment and quality – borne from a deeper sense of connection to your products, your colleagues and customers.
The Helping Hands program and transforms the experience into a developmental process that connects to who you are, where you are going and how you’ll get there.
You won’t believe what can be done in two when you engage your hands, heads and hearts.
During the event the group will be introduced to the program and have a short explanation of the impact of a sudden change in physical abilities caused by an accident. We will have an amputee for the Center of Empowerment make an inspiring introduction.
The participants will move to the building are and will be provided a kit to build the hand, a set of instructions and the Helping begins. We will have trained staff to assist and provide quality control on the hands.
Each kit contains the materials and supplies to build the hand, decorating supplies to personalize the bag to hold the completed hands, a card to write words of encouragement. We will insert a group picture in each bag to provide the recipients a connection to the builders.
