Nothing shows teamwork more than a battalion of firefighters working together to help in the time of danger.
The firefighter challenge is a series of fun challenging games that require teamwork, communication trust. Teams of 8 to 10 members will rotate a series of fun games that represent the day of the firefighters.
Fire hose Challenge – The goal is to be the first team to put out the flames in the house. The game has balls that look like they are floating in the air. The teams are challenged to run the firehose down the line, hook it up to a blower and knock all the flames down.
The flames are held in the air by streams of air blown from inside the game.
Fire and Water Challenge – Team members are harnessed together in two separate lanes. The “Fire” team on one side of the wall, “Water” team on the other side of the wall. The objective is to have more of the balls on the other side of the wall. It’ not as easy as it seems. The players are connected to the same strap that isn’t long enough so give and take are essential. The teams have 60 seconds to transfer balls to the other side.
House on Fire Obstacle Course – Teams maneuver through the house in relay fashion where once the person enters a room, tags the next team member and they move through the course. So rooms have “fog” other you must stay low and move through a tube, climb over a short wall…
Bucket Brigade – Teams pass balls from person to person overhead to a fire bucket at the end of the lane. If we are outside water can be used instead of balls.
Hose Lift – Teams must pull a rope to raise a 100ft hose 12 feet high to ring a bell. That’s the easy part. The entire team except one chief is blindfolded.
Fire Alarm Relay – This crazy relay has teams running down a lane and exchanging Firefighters gear. First the boots, then the pants, the coat, helmet, gloves and air pack. This will bring an appreciation to what the firefighters face daily.
Rescue – Teams pull a mannequin through a course as fast as possible.
The feel good part of the event is when each of the participants stuffs a teddy bear to be given to a child on a first responder call.
